Domestic Violence
Steering Committee
Minnesota's Domestic Violence Steering Committee is a new initiative that began development in 2022 through conversations with the MN Department of Corrections, MN Association of Community Corrections Act Counties, MN Association of County Probation Officers, and victim advocacy, among others.
The purpose of the Steering Committee is to develop recommended standards and guidelines for the assessment, treatment, and supervision of adults who use violence against an intimate partner. We believe that ongoing engagement with emerging research and across our three systems - supervision, treatment/programming, and victim advocacy - will result in improved outcomes for those who commit intimate partner violence and their victims.

Interested in Participating?
If you are willing to serve on the steering committee or one of its three working groups, (risk needs assessment tools, DATP/BIP treatment/programming, or supervision best practices), please register your interest here: DV Committee Signup.
The number of spots are, of course, limited and we are looking for representation across stakeholders and demographics to ensure many perspectives and voices are heard in the process of developing recommendations. An initial review of submissions will begin on March 6th, 2023. Submissions received after that date will be kept for future engagement with the work.
